With the continuous development of wireless network technology,VANET(Vehicu-lar Ad hoc Networks)based on self-organizing network has gradually become hot topic research of network technology in recent years.As an important part of the intelligent transportation system,VANET plays a very important role in transportation safety,im-proving road efficiency and network service supply.Although VANET has a very bright practical prospect,the current research on its communication safety is still at early stage relatively.Different from traditional wireless network,VANET has features of fast node mobility,short connection time and strong environment opening,which makes VANET vulnerable to anonymous attacks.Firstly,this paper studies and analyzes the WAVE communication protocol used by VANET.The WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment)is a communication protocol specially designed for vehicular network by the Institute of Electrical and Elec-tronics Engineers.It includes two parts,IEEE802.11p protocol and IEEE 1609 protocol,which define the physical layer and data link layer of vehicular network.After that,this paper studies the application of DoS attack in WAVE protocol envi-ronment,and extends DoS attack to the wireless-attack and the traffic-attack.In the wire-less-attack,due to the characteristics of WAVE protocol,the security message transmis-sion immune multiple DoS attack methods.This paper chooses Flooding as the base mod-el of DoS attack,and tests the attack effect of multiple variables.In the traffic-Attack part,the paper start from three angles to strengthen the attack message content,attack time and attack node identity,to achieve more lethal attack methods.In this paper,a simulation environment based on Omnet++,SUMO and Veins is built,and the traffic model based on actual road simulation is successfully run under the simula-tion environment.Based on different dimensions,the influence of DoS attack on VANET under simulation condition is observed to achieve a variety of attack scheme designs,which verifies the existing security issues and vulnerabilities of VANET and the direction of development to be continually improved.At the end of the paper,the author summarizes the problems in the simulation ex-periment,and puts forward some thoughts of our own on the future development of VANET.
