With the rapid development of China's automobile industry,whether it is in the appearance of the car,or on the performance of the car have a huge progress.The streamlined shape of vehicle body and the miniaturization and fine of the automobile parts required the more stringent manufacturing standards.What people usually choose the advance manufacturing technology is welding quality,simple operation and high welding efficiency.Laser welding technology as a mature welding system has been widely used in the automotive,medical equipment,architecture,electrical and other micro-direction.Nowadays,wonderful design enhances the requirements of the product aesthetics and reliability,while in the terms of materials selection and production process made a tremendous change.On the basis of reference research and industrial development,laser welding technology as a means,materials research as a orient,the work was completed comprehensively on experimental design and analysis.Laser parameters and experimental designed selected by lap welding way connecting the two materials.According to weld strength,weld,as well as analysis of the microstructure of welding parts welding results.The main welding materials include a metallic material having sealing properties Kovar alloy and high transmittance glass.Then,taking the combination of two materials into consideration,the theoretical basis of combination of glass and metal is wettability.The combining condition of glass and metal was obtained by the processing variable parameters,such as wetting temperature,holding time and roughness.And heat treatment process can be used as basic data for the design of laser experiment.The result of wetting experiment ensures the wettability of the metal and glass so that the two materials can complete laser transmission welding experiment.Finally,welding experiments were completed by chose laser and laser parameters,and the evaluation of welding quality and seam measurement were completed by professional equipment.Meanwhile,the samples of welding microstructure were observed by scanning electron microscopy.The results show that: the laser power and welding speed have a significant effect on the tensile force and the weld width;we should select the appropriate power and welding speed.Positive defocus amount helps improve tensile stress of glass and metal weldment,and pulse duration has influence on reaction time of laser and metal.The maximum shear strength of glass to Kovar alloy is 3.79 Mpa.the corresponding process parameters is when power is 160 W,pulse duration is 3.0ms,the defocus amount is +2mm,welding speed is 3mm/s.The main research is improving the efficiency and speed of metal and glass welding quickly and easily,and can be used in the automotive assembly line mass production.The laser transmission welding experiment has laid the foundation for the theory of glass-metal welding in the auto-body parts.
