With the continuous progress of society,all kinds of materials have been used in the construction of the project,but the steel material has always occupied the main position,its wide range of applications,large demand,but also very economical.However,all materials can not avoid failure,and fatigue failure is a very common form of failure of engineering materials.In the automobile manufacturing industry,automotive lightweight has become a new trend of development,so the material selection becomes very critical,not only to meet the requirements of lightweight vehicles,but also to ensure the sufficient strength and stiffness.In addition to the automotive industry,including other engineering areas,fatigue damage has become a major cause of personal accidents and economic losses,so the fatigue durability of material components has to be considered.In this paper,the types of steel used in automobile body,and the research status of fatigue durability are introduced.The fatigue process and mechanism and the main factors affecting the fatigue strength are described in detail.When the vehicle is traveling,the stress level is low,which will lead to fatigue failure after a long period of time.In the study of the fatigue performance of automobile body material,the relationship between stress and fatigue life is used to express its durability.In this paper,the high cycle fatigue test of the selected steel sheet for automobile body is carried out,and the content and method of the test are carried out according to the GB/T 26076-2010?sheet metal(belt)axial force control fatigue test method?.The test equipment is made in the United States MTS Landmark electro-hydraulic servo fatigue testing machine.The study of the fatigue test includes: the uniaxial tensile test,the high cycle fatigue test,the analysis of the data,the fitting of the S-N curve and the design of the S-N curve.Through the test of small sample median test method,applied axial asymmetric sine wave load,get the cycle life under the material under different stress,analysis of a large number of test data,the least squares curve fitting,get the fatigue strength.Due to the dispersion of the data,select the appropriate confidence interval,statistical analysis to get the appropriate design S-N curve.
