The optimal design of structure is to find the optimal solution under the constraint condition by using optimization technique.The optimization of the structure can not only reduce the weight and cost of the structure,but also help to improve the structural strength and stiffness of the structure.Truss structure has many advantages,for example,a higher material utilization,light quality,strong bearing capacity,convenient construction,good assembling performance and reusability.Truss structure has already been widely used in the practical engineering project.The optimization design of truss structure is of great significance.In the application of practical engineering,the actual problems we encountered become more and more complex.At this time,the traditional optimization method is difficult to operate.Therefore,The intelligent optimization algorithm provides a new way to solve the optimization problem.Metaheuristic algorithm is an important part of intelligent algorithm,such algorithm is inspired by some natural phenomena.Cuckoo Search algorithm is a new metaheuristic.And it is jointly created by Xin-she Yang and Deb,which is based on the breeding behavior of cuckoos.The algorithm has some advantages,such as few parameters,quick search speed,better path selection.At present,it has been widely used in multi-objective optimization,neural network training,engineering optimization,and so on.However,since the cuckoo search algorithm has been introduced soon,there are still many disadvantages,such as low searching accuracy and slow convergence speed.Based on the reasons mentioned above,this paper will be in-depth research,analyze and improve the basic cuckoo search algorithm,and successfully applied in the optimization design of truss structure.This paper adopted cloud model to improve the basic cuckoo search algorithm,aiming at the weakness of basic cuckoo search algorithm,and the detailed process of improved cuckoo search algorithm is designed.Then apply the improved cuckoo search algorithm to the truss optimization problem,and the sectional dimension optimization of truss structure is realized.Some typical plane and spatial truss structures are analyzed and the results are compared with other algorithms,the results show that the improved algorithm is feasible and effective.This paper proposes an improved cuckoo search algorithm,and successfully apply it to the optimization of the section size of truss structure,which can reduce the cost of the project,and improve the efficiency of optimization to some extent.The work of this paper provides a new idea and method for the optimization of truss structure optimization.
