With the development of fast-moving consumption and technology enhance the quantity demanded of architecture,the concept of architecture design turns to be more rational.It merely results in the absence of the sense of experience of architecture.Due to the preference and pursuit of visual forms in modem architectural design,most architectures tend to present impressive and eye-catching visual effects.Architectures lost the via of body experience,the sense of space,and the Genius Loci.This research takes the perception of space,which is closely involved in people’s experience and bodies,as the subject.To analyse perception precisely,it discusses perception of space from subjects,respectively.Firstly,taking the subjective elements of architectural perception and experience as the main research discusses the five sensory systems respectively,to introduce the term of synaesthesia,and to emphasize the sensory diversity experience;Secondly,study objective elements of the architectural perception and experience from the viewpoint of nature,material and space;Finally,regard Peter Zumthor as the object of research to analyse the relevance of perception in his thinking and works.In addition,taking the Therme Vals as a study case,discusses the natural elements,material details,spatial sequence and atmosphere characteristics in architectural perception and experience.The purpose of this paper is discussing the relationship of architectural space and human beings.It emphasizes the importance of embracing the space from the perspective of perception.It aims to recall the life and experience of architecture,to make afford in regenerating relative architecture design methods,and to provide some thinking for the current architecture design.
