With the rapid improvement of modern industrial and manufacturing,the traditional multi-degree-of-freedom motor has quit the area of history,due to its complex structure,high control difficulty and the disadvantage of large energy consumption.Domestic and foreign scholars have continuously strengthen the research of multi-DOF PM motor,and developed a variety of multi-DOF PM motors.In this paper,the advantages of various multi-DOF PM motors are summarized,and a novel liquid suspension type multi-DOF PM motor is proposed.The electromagnetic system,the torque characteristics and the fluid film in the motor and the temperature rise of the motor are analyzed in detail.The specific work is summarized as follows:1)A kind of multi-DOF spherical motor with liquid suspension is proposed.The structural parameters and working principle of the motor are introduced in detail.The hybrid drive mode is used in this motor,which can achieve relatively high motion precision and its special structural design can greatly reduce the power consumption of motor.2)The finite element analysis software Ansoft Maxwell is used for motor modeling and the permanent magnet static magnetic field,the air gap flux density distribution and the torque characteristics curves are analyzed.3)Using the analytic method,liquid – suspension type multi – DOF motor modeling is analyzed,and with the finite element method is verified.Based on the spherical coordinates,using pull equation method,magnetic field of motor is established,and solve the air gap magnetic field space distribution.The analytic method and the finite element analysis results validate each other,which proves the affectiveness and consistency of the two modeling methods.4)ANSYS Workbench software was carried out on the motor at fluid-structure interaction analysis,and liquid oil film pressure distribution and the effects of the pressure spherical shell of the stator have been obtained.5)The eddy current loss and temperature rise of the motor are analyzed.Under the operation conditions of rated and overloaded high current,the heat generation of the new type motor is simulated and calculated with the temperature field by ANSYS software.The temperature distribution of the motor under different working conditions is obtained.The research results verify the rationality of the new type motor’s structure design,and provide the reference for the optimization of the structure and the improvement of the performance indices of this kind of motors.
