With the rapid development of highway transportation industry in China,the commercial truck is playing a more and more important role.But due to the large dead weight capacity of commercial truck,when it travels along the mountain road,especially the long downhill section,continuous braking operation will cause the brake temperature is too high and the phenomenon of thermal recession,causes traffic accidents occur frequently.Therefore,research on the temperature changes of commercial brake brakes in different working conditions and a brake temperature monitoring and warning system was developed are of great significance for the safety and to reduce the traffic accidents of commercial trucks.This paper chose the temperature as main parameters of monitoring and early warning.Firstly,the stress analysis is carried out on the condition of vehicle continuous braking.The calculation model of commercial truck brake drum temperature on speed,downhill slope,the quality of truck loading and time was established based on energy conservation.Then,the 3D model of the brake drum is established and the physical model is obtained through related assumptions.The ANASYS finite element method is used to analysis the temperature changes of the brake drum continuous braking conditions.The degree of failure of the brake drum in different temperature range is determined.The vehicle risk degree R is defined based on the relationship between the degree of brake failure and the difficulty of the traffic accident,the different degrees are classified according to the risk range Alarm and voice prompts.Then,the research and development of temperature monitoring and warning system is build,select the Freescale MC9S12XEP100 as the master chip of the system.With temperature of the brake and the main parameters affecting the brake temperature monitoring as target,a brake braking performance monitoring and early warning system based on temperature is developed.The system is mainly including temperature and main influence parameters acquisition module,alarm and voice prompt module,data processing module and vehicle-mounted LCD display module.The LCD displayer display the brake temperature and its associated main parameters in real-time,so that the driver can grasp the brake temperature changes at any time,in order to take reasonable driving operation to ensure vehicle safety.When the temperature of the brake is too high,the system carries on the warning in the form of light,sound and voice broadcast,prompting the driver to carry out the corresponding driving operation,to avoid traffic accident which caused by the excess temperature lead to the brake failure.Finally,the debugging and the experiment are processed.Simulation experiment results show that the system can accurately and timely display the brake temperature,slope,velocity,load quality on the LCD screen.When the temperature of the brake drum in different early warning level,the system can execute alarm and voice prompts according to the alarm level that program had set.The system has such advantages such as high accuracy,good real-time performance and reliability,achieve the goal of the auxiliary safety driving.
