The statistical analysis of various bridge-collapsing accidents shows that ship-bridge collision is one of the main causes of the collapse of the bridge.Therefore,it has of great significance to analyze the reason of the ship crashing against the bridge and study the regularity of collision accident.In addition,the bridge pier should be the key position in the design of one-kilometer level's cable-stayed bridge.In recent years,due to the rapid development of computer technology,the Finite Element Method stand out from various analysis methods and has provided effective and reliable analysis method for the problem of ship-bridge collision.In order to find out a more reasonable and efficient finite element numerical simulation method and explore the factors which may influence the process of ship-bridge collision process,Wang Dong Yangtse River Bridge in Anhui province was analyzed.In this paper,a three-dimensional solid model of ship-bridge collision has been established.Finite element dynamic analysis software LS-DYNA has been used for numerical simulation analysis.The main contents of this paper are as follows.(1)In order to investigate the effect of different pile-soil interaction model on shipbridge collision results,fixed-end,p-y spring and three-dimensional solid models are used to simulate pile-soil interaction.Using three different pile-soil interaction model and LSDYNA,the process of ship-bridge collision has been numerically simulated.The numerical results of different pile-soil interaction models are compared.The results show that dynamic finite element method can efficiently simulate problem of ship-bridge collision.(2)The present paper describes a detailed finite element model for ship-bridge collision analysis of a 10,000 tons ship impacting the main tower of Wang Dong Yangtse River Bridge.Nonlinear inelastic responses of both the ship and main tower structures are considered.The energy conversion in the process of collision has been investigated.The influence of water line,ship speed and sailing direction on the collision results are explored in detail.(3)Considering the cable force,the bridge structure,pile soil interaction,a numerical model of whole ship-bridge is developed.Numerical simulation results are given for the vessel structures and main bridge pier.The vessel collision force is calculated.The nonlinear dynamical characteristics of ship-bridge collision are discussed.The computational results of the whole bridge model are compared with the simplified main tower model.It has been proved that the simplified model has reasonable analytical accuracy.
