As a new type of metal displacement energy dissipation device,the buckling restrained brace has the advantages of safety,economy and rationality.Inhibition of internal core of buckling restrained brace is restrained by the external constraint element in the axial tension and pressure yielding,not only it plays a supporting role in common brace,but also has good hysteretic energy dissipation capacity,it can significantly improve the ductility and seismic performance of frame support system.For the frame structure of special functions is in high intensity area,its vertical lateral force resisting member will have plastic deformation and damage under earthquake,if buckling restrained brace is controlled by the passive design,the response of the structure under seismic load is greatly improved by absorbing energy,so the research on dynamic performance of BRB and BRB-frame structure has theoretical significance and practical significance.Firstly,the working mechanism of BRB and theory system are summarized,Then based on analysis of ABAQUS software to simulate different restraint stiffness,the initial defects and the size of the gap on the influence of its performance,it is concluded that buckling restrained brace should guarantee reasonable restraint stiffness ratio and gap size.The paper is in the engineering background of a frame structure in high intensity zone,Based on MIDAS/Gen to analysis spectrum response and the linear time history with pure concrete frame,structure and ordinary steel brace concrete frame structure under the action of severe earthquake in high intensity area,brace can effectively reduce the displacement response of the structure,and reduce extra-reinforced column of the original structure on horizontal seismic action,and solve the problem of the extra-reinforcement.Based on the pure reinforced concrete frame,ordinary steel brace-concrete frame and BRB-frame structure are ansysied by rare earthquake and elastic-plastic time history,the BRB can effectively reduce the seismic response of the main structure and protect it.Finally,The optimal design of buckling restrained braces based on the target displacement method is applied to the engineering case,the BRB has full hysteretic curve and more well distributed vertical stiffness,to provide reference for the similar design of buckling restrained braces in frame structure.
