In nuclear and particle physics experiments,the output pulse signal of the detector contains the most comprehensive,detailed and accurate physical information of the detected particles' reaction in the detector.The signal waveform area represents the particle energy deposition in the detector,so we can easily get the information of particle energy by accurately measuring the waveform area of the signal;The leading edge of the signal carries the time information of the particle hitting the detector,so the exact time of particle hitting the detector can be deduced by the leading edge of the wave;The different shapes of the signals represent the interaction between different particles.Therefore,the different interactions can be distinguished by the pulse shape discrimination and thus the interference of the background signal can be excluded.All along,the domestic and foreign experimental physicists hope to use waveform digitization technology to obtain the pulse waveform information of the particles.However,due to the limitation of analog-to-digital converter(ADC)technology,the realization of waveform digitizing technology is difficult,especially in the interface of data readout.In recent years,high speed and high precision analog-to-digital conversion chip based on JESD204B interface is developing rapidly.As a high-speed serial data interface which has the characteristics of small package,minimum quantity output interface,low power consumption,etc,JESD204B can greatly simplify the design difficulty,reduce development risk and cost if it can be applied to the waveform digitization technology.At the same time,compared with other types of data readout method,the performance of this method is better.Therefore,this paper studies the data readout method of waveform digitization technology based on JESD204B interface.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.The analysis of the current situation and trend of the data readout method of waveform digitization technology.By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different ADC output driver interface,it can be easily get the conclusion that the JESD204B interface will become a mainstream technology of ADC and waveform digitization technology in the future;2.Research on data readout method based on the JESD204B interface;3.Design of a prototype circuit based on JESD204B interface digital for waveform digitization and verify its performance and rationality.The first chapter firstly introduces the characteristics of signal and readout electronics of nuclear and particle physics experiment and introduces the advantages and the current disadvantages of waveform digitization technology.Finally,some applications of the waveform digitization technology in the current large-scale particle physics experiments is presented and the significance of this paper is study.The second chapter introduces the current research status of waveform digitization data readout interface.Firstly,the principle of ADC and the classification of high speed ADC is introduced.Based on the analysis of development trend of the ADC output driver interface,the advantages of the JESD204B interface based on the CML driver are compared and the application prospect of ADC based on JESD204B interface is presented.The third chapter studies the data readout method of waveform digitization based on JESD204B high-speed interface.The key technology of JESD204B high speed data transmission interface is studied,including the link parameters,layered protocol and the key point of clock design.The fourth chapter introduces the prototype circuit design of waveform digitization module based on JESD204B,which includes ADC circuit design,analog input circuit design,clock design,power supply design,FPGA design and the logic design.In the fifth chapter,the test contents of the prototype circuit module is introduced.Then the JESD204B interface link function and the ADC performance is tested.At last,a simple functional verification of the prototype circuit is carried out.Finally,the sixth chapter summarizes the research content and the shortcomings of this paper.At the same time,the future work is discussed and prospected.
