Electronic linear accelerator are widely applicable among the basic research in high-energy physics,medical field,industrial field,argriculture,container inspection field and so on.At the same times,the application in different fields also have different request on the electron LINAC.In recent years,the development of nuclear technology made it more mature for the LINAC’s application on medical field.Electron linear accelerator in L band has gradually become an important research object,resulting from that it was able to produce relatively higher electron beam power,which can helps to produce radiopharmaceuticals via photonuclear reaction.At present,some research institutions and enterprises around the world have embarked on this field.As mentioned above,this paper studying the L-band disk loaded waveguide accelerating structure is of great significance.This paper first analyzed the electromagnetic field in the L-band disk loaded waveguide accelerating structure,then using the CST code and SUPERFISH code to conduct simulation on the accelerator structure and obtained a high quality factor,high shunt impedance accelerator structure paramwters.Through the simulation,the geometry dimensions of the cavities in different phase velocity and the relating microwave characteristic parameters were obtained in this paper.Together with this parameters and combined bunchers accelerator physical design method,this paper performed programming calculations based on beam dynamics and obtained the Energy gain curve and orbit phase diagram.Under this paper’s design,the average energy of the obtained electron can reach 50MeV,100kW,which meets the design requirements.Finally,this paper conducted an experimental study on the accelerating section of L band disk loaded waveguide accelerating structure.Some model cavities was designed and manufactured according to the simulated geometry dimensions,at the same time,microwave characteristic parameters of this model cavities were tested.It was found that the modified testing results are basically the same as the simulation results.Under this conditions,this study is able to provide some valuable database and of a certain reference value on the future L band accelerator structure design.
