Curved cable-stayed bridge is a kind of bridge with a curved longitudinal axis.It has not only the characteristics of curved bridges but also those of cable-stayed bridges.Its stress distribution is very complicated with obvious 3D characteristics.The curve radius and tower height are the key design parameters of curved cable-stayed bridge,which have important influence on the integral mechanical performance.Based on the calculation of a series of curved cable stayed bridges,the structural behavior of this kind of bridge was studied by using professional bridge finite element analysis software.The main content of the present work includes:1.The finite element models are developed for different curved cable stayed bridges with different curve radius and tower height.The whole bridge is calculated and analyzed and the force/stress distribution and deformation state of both the main girders and the pylons are obtained in the final stages.2.By applying the principle of minimum potential energy and assuming displacement function of the curve ?-beam bridge,the differential equation of elastic mechanics under uniform load has been derived,and the shear lag effect of ?-beam is studied as an example.3.To study the effect of curve radius and tower height,multiple MIDAS/Civil models are established.And then the normal force and shear lag effect coefficient of some typical sections are extracted.Through the comparison analysis of calculated results,a lot of meaningful conclusions are obtained.The static behaviors of different concrete curved cable stayed bridge have been analyzed in the present work with different curve radius and height of tower.The shear lag effect of the curved cable-stayed bridge come to the light,and some rules and design basis of the curved cable-stayed bridge are summarized.
