Study On The Development Of Tianjin Urban Landscape Shaped By Regional Culture

Landscape always has distinctive features reflecting regional profile.It not just characterizes the regional environment,but also record the traditional history and culture memories at the same time.Nowadays,modern cities are getting more and more similar,hence urban landscape buildings also inevitably lose regional feature and resemble to one another.Therefore,the study of urban landscape from the perspective of regional culture and the disclosure of their inherent develop pattern can provide us many useful suggestions for recovering the climate of contemporary urban landscape.However,relatively few detailed studies have been performed in the field of historical landscape for particular city.In the history of 600 years,Tianjin gradually formed its unique regional culture including Tianjin garden which will be discussed as the main interest in my research.This paper revolves the relation of Tianjin urban landscape and regional culture.Clarifying the Tianjin regional culture,discussions will shed light on their main categories and development characters,and further explore the interaction of Tianjin's development,landscape formation and regional culture.Additionally,history will be traced back into three different time intervals,ancient,contemporary,and modern.Six regional culture are selected including Tianjin water culture,salt merchants culture,concession culture,lodger culture,Peiyang culture,and marketplace culture.Their influence will be closely scrutinized on aspects of Tianjin urban landscape's features,spatial distribution,landscape architecture opuscule and plantscape design.As the details mentioned here,each regional culture,to some extent,correspondingly sprout out their own landscape personalities.The development of Tianjin urban landscape reveals the profile of developing Tianjin regional culture.Nowadays,Tianjin urban landscapes hardly show exquisite traditional culture as ancient China.However,landscape gardening,style,function,and recent culture is getting much more dedicate and abundance.Argument such as how to inherit from traditional history in the development of Tianjin urban landscape,meanwhile manifest regional features without losing background culture remain to be solved as a strategy in designers' blueprints.
