Exploration Of BIM Framework System And The Future Development Trend

With the development of society and economy and the rapid progress of science and technology,the various walks of life are undergoing a huge change,and the AEC(Architechture,Engineering and Construction)industry,which is closely related to people's life,is no exception.For a building,whether it is for the appearance and material,or the performance and quality,people have a newer and higher requirement to adapt to the rapid development of the society.At present,the future development trends of the AEC industry mainly include globalization,informationization,sustainability,complex,diversification and localization.Traditional CAD has been unable to meet the new requirements,which the trends above present to the AEC industry practitioners,both in the breadth and depth of the architectural design.And BIM has been given great expectations as a replacement since mentioned by “BIM's father” Eastman.However,BIM is now experiencing an unprecedented obstacle,and even some people have begun to doubt that whether the BIM technology can be competent for the design,construction and operation of a building in the future.What the direction should the BIM technology develop towards to break through the current obstacle and meet the challenges of the AEC industry in the future?With the future development trend of AEC industry and the practice of BIM technology in the last 15 years as starting point,through the extensive reading on the study of BIM,this paper set the framework system and the future development direction of BIM as main research subject.There are three parts: theoretical basis-BIM's history and framework system,realistic basis – BIM's current application and research result – BIM's four development direction.It's my hope to provide some inspirations and ideas for the research of the next generation of BIM through this paper,so that BIM can provide better service in the full life cycle of building including design,construction,operation and reconstruction,and eventually become a handy tool for the practitioners.
