Buckling restrained brace(buckling-restrained brace,referred to as BRB)is a new type of energy dissipation component,which is subjected to tension and compression.Using component to help structure absorb seismic energy,and to reduce the extent of structural damage.The novel type of BRB with concrete-filled steel tubes combined as the casing and a core plate as the steel core is developed by the authors.The bracing is composed of a steel tube filled with concrete.The inner core of the steel pipe adopts a shape steel plate.In this paper,the design method and seismic performance of this bracing are mainly studied.The researches are as follow:The design methods and the corresponding characteristics of the new BRB are studied first based on the research findings and analytical theory of conventional BRBs,including global stability,local stability,etc.Secondly,the finite element analysis software(ANSYS)is used to carry out the modal analysis of the common brace and buckling restrained brace.The advantages and disadvantages of the two kinds of support modes are studied by comparing the two kinds of brace modes.On the basis of modal analysis,the buckling mode of the structure is analyzed.Further analysis of the critical load changes and analysis of the two are prone to instability position.Thirdly,the influence of various parameters on the BRB with concrete-filled steel tubes combined as the casing and a core plate as the steel core is studied.The analysis of the common brace and buckling restrained brace.The friction coefficient of the buckling restrained brace and the strength of the filled concrete are analyzed.To provide a basis for further optimization of specimens.Finally,based on the structural analysis software SAP2000,the static nonlinear analysis of frame structure and frame structure with buckling restrained brace is carried out by Pushover.Based on the analysis of the shear displacement and the displacement of the two frames,the deformation of the two frames is observed.
