The transmission is one of the important parts of a truck,the spline transition housing is an important part of connecting the transmission and transmitting power,it is necessary to accurately achieve the meshing action,but also to accurately complete the transfer of alternating load,its accuracy and intrinsic quality should achieve a higher demand.At present,the demand for spline transition housing is increasing,and traditional cutting can not guarantee the inherent quality and productivity of mass production,Cold extrusion forming spline transition housing serves as a new process method,not only to ensure that the inherent quality of the formation,but also to possess a lot of advantages including less supplies,high production efficiency,low cost,and the process is widely using in the actual production of spline transition housing.In the actual production,the main technical difficulty faced by the cold extrusion technology of spline transition housing is that during the extrusion process,because of the stress concentration occurred in rounded transitions of the punch,contributed the punch fracture and that it is difficult to complete mass production.Therefore,according to the technical difficulty,it is the key to the cold extrusion technology of spline transition housing to explore the law of metal flow in the process of cold extrusion of spline transition housing,to propose reasonable forming method,to improve the strength of mold and to prevent fracture of punch..In this paper,according to the structural characteristics of spline transition housing for the truck,the cold extrusion image of the part is designed and the corresponding finite element model is established;and aiming at the difficult problem of cold extrusion process spline transition housing in the whole die structure,the failure analysis of the punch was carried out,and the method of cold extrusion of floating mandrel was put forward,the finite element software of Deform-3D is used to numerically simulate the law of metal flow of the spline transition housing in the forming process;At the same time,the influence of each process parameter on the forming force was studied when spline transition housing was formed by floating mandrel cold extrusion process,and the orthogonal test design method was used to optimize the process parameters to determine the optimum process parameters.Finally,according to above simulation result,two test processes including adding back pressure and no back pressure were carried out,the result was consistent with the simulation results,it proved the feasibility of floating mandrel cold extrusion process,and the process has been applied to actual production.
