In China,most of the structures are reinforced concrete construction,some of the buildings are closing to the design life,some serious damage,and some change use function.Therefore,they must be maintained and reinforced.At present,the main form of reinforcement with increasing section method,bonded steel plates reinforcement and steel wire rope mesh and polymer modified cement mortar layer method.With the development of material science,FRP construction has been rapid development in recent years with its excellent physical and mechanical properties and its advantages in construction.Therefore,emerges as the new reinforcement technology —fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)reinforcement of reinforced concrete structure.This article will use experimental method analysis the reinforced concrete members strengthened with CFRP plates.In this paper,three suitable reinforced concrete beams are studied,of which one is comparison reinforced concrete beam and two respectively of a layer and two layers of beams strengthened by CFRP plates on edge compression zone.Through four-point bending test,research the failure pattern,bending capacity,deformation and strain variation of the beams which at the edge sets the compression CFRP plates.Test results showed that the beams which strengthened with CFRP plates on edge compression zone can effectively improve the bending capacity and the ultimate bending capacity improved the most obvious.After the tensile reinforcement yielding,the increasing of bending stiffness is mainly reflected.Both of them increased with the increasing amount of CFRP plates;Throughout the process of loading,if the pasted under the condition of guaranteed quality and strength,compression of CFRP plates and concrete can work together very well;Finally,from the viewpoint of the compressive properties of CFRP plate,put forward its role in reinforcing concrete structures and deduced the bending capacity calculation formula of rectangular cross section which pasting CFRP plates for flexural members.The method of this paper is contrast study and analysis the function of compressive behaviors of carbon fiber on flexural bearing capacity of RC beams.The results of this paper can be used for engineering application and theoretical calculations of CFRP plates strengthened reinforced concrete members.
