High-voltage overhead transmission lines are essential to the power system.When transmission lines short-circuit faults occur,the timely and accurate fault loction and effectivly repair the fault lines are effective measures to ensure the entire power system stability and safely and economic operation.Focused on the high voltage transmission line short circuit fault and aimed at improving the accuracy of transmission line fault location with single end power frequency component,the Prony algorithm is adopted to extract power frequency component of fault signal in order to filter the location influence made by the decaying DC component,and to provide reference for microprocessor-based protection improvement with power frequency components location principle.In this paper,the main research work is as follows:1.With principle of single-ended fault location on transmission line based on power frequency,the transmission line fault location is studied and analyzed.The universal expression of single-ended power frequency component fault location principle is deduced,the factors affecting power frequency electric component location accuracy are analyzed,besides,and influence on fault location made by current distribution coefficient phase angle of the principle.2.The primary principle of Prony algorithm is demonstrated,the standard influencing the Prony algorithm degree of fitting is discussed,and the principle of the parameters in the algorithm is determined.3.To solve the influence problem made by decaying DC component,the Prony algorithm is introduced into single-ended fault location based on power frequency component principle.After fault occurs,The frequency,amplitude,phase and attenuation factor of voltage and current signals can be calculated with the algorithm,thus the influence of decaying DC component is effectively filtered out,which improves the fault location accuracy.4.The PSCAD/EMTDC simulation software is chosen to build the extra-high voltage transmission lines model,a variety of short circuit fault is simulated for different positions of the transmission line.The Prony algorithm is coded via MATLAB software,the voltage current power frequency component is obtained with the algorithm,and the fault location is performed with the single end power frequency electric component principle.The feasibility and validity of the single-ended power frequency component fault location based on Prony algorithm is analyzed and verifiedThe principle of single-ended power frequency component location on transmission line based on Prony algorithm gains the voltage and current power frequency component accurately in a short period of time after the relay protection appliance quick operation.Prony algorithm can get better application in the field of microcomputer relay protection.
