Objectives To find out the risk factors and susceptibility genes of motor vehicle drivers' accident proneness, and research the possible psychological-genetic mechanisms of motor vehicle drivers' accident proneness from the psychology, personality characteristics and genetic level, finally we can provide a scientific basis for the drivers' screening in the future thereby reducing traffic accidents,we investigated the relationship between the psychological symptom, personality traits and the polymorphism of BDNF gene on 5-HT signal transduction pathway of motor vehicle drivers in Nanning,Guangxi. Methods A case-control study was conducted to this research.According to the inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria, the accident proneness drivers was determined, including 48 cases in the accident group and 97 cases in the control group. The drivers were from the motor vehicle driver in the medical examination center of Guangxi Workers' Hospital in 2016.We collected the drivers' baseline data and psychology and personality scales, and assessed their psychological personality characteristics. We also collected the drivers' blood, and BDNF rs7103411,rs11030104 and rs11030101 were selected as candidate genes, genotyping was performed by using SnapShot technique.Application ofEpidata3.1 to establish a database for data collation,Hardy-Weinberg genetic balance test and haplotype analysis were carried out by Haploview 4.2 and SPSS 20.0 was used to analysis the data by t test,chi-square test and Logistic regression analysis model.Results(1)The GHQ-12 score of the motor vehicle drivers in the accident group and the control group was statistically significant(t=-2.34,P=0.02).(2)There were statistically significant differences in depression, panic, and extroversion of unmarried drivers in the accident group compared with the control group.(3)The scores of tension, anger, fatigue, depression, panic and nervousness of those drivers with driving experience ? 8 years in the accident group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).(4)The multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that married(OR=0.24,95%CI=0.09~0.65)may be a protective factor for accident proneness.(5)There was likely to be a positive correlation between nervousness and tension, fatigue(tension r=0.30,fatigue r=0.32,P< 0.05)in the accident group.(6)No difference in BDNF rs7103411,rs11030101 and rs11030104 genotype and allele frequency comparison between the accident group and control group(P>0.05).(7)The multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between the polymorphisms of the three SNPs and motor vehicle drivers' accident proneness(P>0.05).(8)In control group, the friendliness score of CC genotype group from rs7103411 was higher than that of CT/TT genotype group, the openness score of AA genotype group from rs11030101 was higher than that of TA/TT genotype group(P<0.05).In the accident group, the friendliness score of AA genotype group from rs11030104 was higher than that of AG/GG genotype group(P<0.05).(9)There was no statistically significant differencebetween accident proneness drivers accident and control group of the frequency of the haplotype BDNF(P>0.05).Conclusion The driver's psychology, personality characteristics may no be related to accident proneness. We find that being married may be a protective factor of motor vehicle driver's accident proneness. The BDNF gene SNPs may no be related to accident proneness of motor vehicle drivers. It was found that the BDNF gene SNPs may be related to motor vehicle drivers' personality traits. The frequency of the haplotype BDNF may be not association with the accident proneness drivers.
