Roundabout is an important node as the urban transportation network to urban traffic.However,with the rapid increase of urban car ownership,part of roundabouts have been become congestion on the circulatory roadway during peak periods.In order to solve the congestion problem,the roundabout uses the signal control.Although the signalized roundabout can alleviate the congestion problem on the certain extent,its unique mode of operation creates the driving behavior which is different from the conventional roundabout.In order to effectively solve this type of intersection problem,it is important to research the driving behavior of the signalized roundabout.By field investigation on the selected appropriate urban signalized roundabout in this article,we research and analysis the traffic flow characteristics and the driving behavior characteristics according to the measured data.Establishing a lane changing model based on roundabout district partition and Introducing driver's psychological parameters.At the same time,a special lane changing model was built mainly aim at those cars nearby intersection exit.Finally,numeral simulation analysis was done by computer programming,and the comparison between simulation result and measured data,demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.The main results of this paper are summarized as following.(1)To the signalized roundabout make an investigation,and deal with the video to obtain the data such as flow,velocity,density and lane changing probability,then analysis the data,and get the following conclusions: from the entrance to the exit of through lane,the proportion of slow-running vehicle become decreasing,the proportion of moderate speed in first increases and then decreases,and the proportion of the driving fast gradually increased.In the exit,the vehicle tended to speed up out of the ring without the block phenomenon.The lane-changing behavior mainly occurs at the entrance and exit of the signalized roundabout,the former is more back to the export of corresponding target lane,and the latter is to leave the roundabout.(2)Based on an analysis of driving behavior,building a car-following model to the road from the entrance to the before exit.Because the through vehicles travel on the inside lane,and the left-turn vehicle on the outside lane,so to the vehicles on thedifferent road of the exit,building the special model about change lane,and improving the model of speed effect.Finally,getting the CA model on signal controlled roundabouts traffic flow.(3)The model is simulated through the MATLAB programming software,and comparing with the measured data to verify the correctness of the model.By comparing it with the simulation results of the commonly used change lane model,it can be proved that the model is more realistic.
