With the increase in the number of cars and the improvement of the level of public travel,the problem of urban traffic congestion is serious increasingly.In order to ensure the safety of travel and improve the efficiency of road traffic,urban road management department often install the signal control device in the intersection to improve the city road traffic conditions.Therefore,it is significant to study the influence of the signal light on the operation characteristics of the vehicle and to realize the optimal control of the intersection.In the study,it is found that the signal not only have an impact to near the stop line of vehicles,but also to all vehicles which are in the entrance road of intersection and can observe the signal lamp status,and different control modes have different influence to the vehicle.This paper based on the measured data to analyze the effect of the remaining green time on the vehicle speed which are in the entrance lanes of intersection under the condition of with or without signal countdown device on urban roads.And then we can analyze the behavior characteristics of the drivers under different conditions of time and space.Eventually,by performing the analysis of pilot behaviors in with or without signal countdown device,a traffic flow model of entrance lanes of urban signal intersection which considers the influence of the signal light on the driving behavior is built.On this basis,the model was solved by numerical simulation of MATLAB,the simulation results are compared with the measured data,found that the model can simulate vehicle operating characteristics of the actual situation.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)In the countdown or no countdown control mode,the influence of signal lights on the vehicle speed mainly concentrated in a certain area near the stop line,but the signal device size and light intensity is directly related to the driver on the state of the signal lamp identification distance.(2)In the green light period,the speed fluctuation of each monitoring section is larger under the condition of signal countdown;In the case of no countdown,the average speed is higher than the countdown case about 10km/h.(3)In the case of no traffic block driver always accelerated,but when the vehicle near the stop line,the driver in the case of no countdown to consider more safety factors,and the countdown case the driver will pay more attention to efficiency.(4)Based on the analysis of the vehicle acceleration and deceleration characteristics under signal block and the driver behavior characteristics in green light,use the finer cellular and under the open boundary,the established RTL model can better reflect the vehicle operating characteristics of urban signal intersection entrance road.(5)The change of signal cycle time will lead to the change of traffic flow characteristics of the intersection entrance road.According to the analysis,with the shortening of signal cycle time,the average speed of the vehicle is increased during the green light,the vehicle queue length is gradually reduced during the red light.
