As one of the most serious natural disasters,earthquake always threatens human life and has brought huge loss to Human society.Owing to the traditional capacity based seismic design method can not quantitatively assess the deformation capacity and energy consumption capacity of structure,therefore,the buildings will produce severe damage or collapse under extremely rare earthquake.In order to overcome the limitation of the traditional seismic design method and ensure “the structure could not collapse under large earthquake”,this paper introduces the performance based seismic design methods.At the same time,the frame shear wall structures is widely used in the earthquake area in our country due to theirs rich structure layout,good globality and lateral stiffness.Therefore,this paper studies the performance based seismic design methods of frame shear wall structures.Firstly,this paper introduces the concept and development of performance based seismic design,followed by introduction of the finite element software SAP2000,and discusses emphatically Pushover analysis,MPA method and Dynamic time-history analysis.By analyzing the frame shear wall structure of different heights with different lateral load patterns of Pushover analysis and Dynamic time-history analysis,we get the seismic response with various methods and study the optimum method which can accurately predicate the seismic response by comparing the results.Then,this paper introduces the main parameters of the frame shear wall structure.Though analyzing the three frame shear wall structure of different parameters with Dynamic time history analysis,we can study their damage mode under the large earthquake and explore the control condition of the reasonable damage mode.The result show that the structure model of feeble coupling beam has reasonable damage pattern.The seismic fortification requirements of the structure components are put forward according to the three levels fortification requirements and the control idea of "strong wall limbs,feeble coupling beam" is put forward according to the capability design method.Finally,this paper introduces the basic conception and research contents of seismic energy analysis methods and study the hysteretic energy distribution between the layers of the shear wall structure of different parameters under large earthquake,The result show that the structure model of feeble coupling beam has reasonable energy distribution pattern.On the basis of studying a large number of frame shear wall structures which have different coupling beam height andspan,provide the control condition of reasonable energy distribution by numerical analysis Method.
