Datong-Zhungeer Railway is one of national key construction projects as well as the first single-track railway available for 10,000 t heavy haul trains nationwide,owning the position of great importance in railway tracks.Topographical features along Datong-Zhungeer Railway Railway diverse with complex geology,and consequently there are a number of traffic events due to environmental disasters,especially due to slope collapse.Sometimes traffic is completely interrupted.Traditional manual patrol is not able to fundamentally solve the problems including slope sliding and geological hazards.In this paper,starting from ensuring safety of railway transportation and effective guidance of long-term and comprehensive governance along the railway,technical researches are conducted on hazards of high slope of Datong-Zhungeer Railway Railway.Main contents that are revealed in this paper are listed as below.Firstly,based on demands of project practice and daily maintenance,geographical position,topographical features,stratum lithology and geological structure along Datong-Zhungeer Railway Railway are investigated and researched.Combined with existing geological materials,location and range of potential safety hazards of high slope are determined and types of potential safety hazard of high slope are ranked.Secondly,index system of stability evaluation of high slope is established.Using analytic hierarchy process,the weight of evaluation index in index system is determined.Through fuzzy theory,the mathematical model of stability evaluation of high slope prevention is established.Stability of key slopes is analyzed and calculated and ranks of potential hazards of main high slopes along Datong-Zhungeer Railway Railway are evaluated.Furthermore,slope stability in the five typical engineering cases along Datong-Zhungeer Railway Railway is selected for evaluation and calculation.The calculation results show that the slope K37+424?+534 belongs to the unhealthy rank;the slope K37+100?+200 belongs to the dangerous rank;the slope K47+200?+300 belongs to the dangerous rank;the slope K47+699?+750 belongs to the unhealthy rank;the slope K156+280?+330 belongs to the unhealthy rank;after mutual verification of calculation results and practical investigation results,better consistency is acquired,which shows that the evaluation index and method that are applied in this paper are effective.Finally,taking the south slope K47+200 ? +300 along Datong-Zhungeer Railway Railway as the example,with the help of limit equilibrium and numerical simulation method,mechanical analysis is mainly conducted on instability of the high slope.Through numerical simulation,the deformation and destructing process as well as the instability mechanism of slopes is demonstrated.The results show that the instability and sliding of landslide massexpand from the back side to edges and the sliding perimeter gradually forms.However,the starting of overall instability of slopes cannot be proved due to high safety degree of the middle point of sliding surface.Corresponding measures must be taken now,or overall sliding phenomenon can occur.
