With the development of the science and technology in the modern naval battle,especially that of radar interference and kinds of shooting arms, which is greatly increasing the probabilities of non-contact explosion to the warships. Along with the improvement of researches of the material science, importance is attached to sandwich materials in engineering field because of their merits as lightweight,high strength,high stiffness and various functions. Based on the characteristics of the sandwich composite structures,this article undertakes the research on anti-air blast performance of the warship superstructure by numerical methods. Also, it arms to make the response predictions of the warship superstructure which are made of sandwich composites under the air blast by discussing the shock wave propagation law and analyzing the dynamic response of the different locations in the superstructure.Firstly, researches on the generation and propagation law of the air blast wave. Article'makes the simple introductions on the characteristics of the shock wave and contrasts the empirical formula to find out the appropriate one.Secondly, the numerical simulation of the air blast shock wave propagation process is made by using the non-linear transient dynamical software ABAQUS. Numerical computation and experiential results are accordant. Also, this article makes the researches on the dynamic response of the sandwich panel at different stand-off distances,which arms to prove the availability and accuracy of the simulation.Thirdly, it is proved that the sandwich composite structures have significant advantages in resistance of air blast by comparing the solid plates with the sandwich panels of the same weight. The different ply angle face sheets of the foamed sandwiched composite, different mass ratio of foam core and the kind of stiffener are investigated. The objectives of these works are to obtain the optimum design scheme of the structure for impulse resistance.Finally, based on the characteristics of shock wave propagation, the warship superstructure finite element model is established to make the research on its dynamic response of the foamed sandwiched structure. It arms to make the response predictions by analyzing the deformation, shock environment and energy absorbing of the whole structure.
