In the field of hull deformation measurements, It has been noted that the hull deformation measurement is of great significance for a long time., there are many methods of measurement associated with deformation. They can be divided into optical method and mechanical method. These two methods have been applied in mature areas of the hull deformation measurement.With the development of inertial technology,inertia matching method which was Propose d by Russian scholars brings a new measurement method to measure hull deformation field. a number of domestic and foreign literatures researching on the method have been published. It can be seen from the literatures that inertial technology is very different from the traditional method of optical and mechanical methods. This method has high accuracy, fast processing speed, real-time dynamic monitoring of hull deformation.These advantages cannot be compared by traditional measurement methods, so inertia matching method is considered to be the most promising research directions. Although scholars have made some achievements on inertia matching method only in the theoretical derivation and simulation analysis, any scholars have yet propose a detailed deformation measurement system based on this method. According to matching measurement principle and the deformation measurement system which is briefly raised in the literatures, we use fiber gyro inertial measurement system which is independently researched and developed by our laboratory to carry out the research about practical application of this method, the results showed that the time delay has a great influence on the method.This paper carried out research on this issue, the main contents are as follows:At first making studies on the measurement principle of inertia matching and analyzing the reasons which generate the time delay by theoretical simulation then exploring the impact of the time delay on inertia matching method.Secondly making study on time delay compensation method according to the mathematical model of inertia matching method to reconstruct the system state equations and measurement equations, though data processing and theoretical simulation verifying the effect of compensation method.Then designing a clock synchronization measurement program for latency issues which are raised in the literature about the hull deformation measurement systems.Finally verifying the clock synchronization program through building a clock synchronized hardware test platform.
