In the present urban construction of China,the construction of "new town" has become a common phenomenon in the city.Meanwhile,study on the application of urban climate in the new town planning has gradually attracted people’s attention,and especially,the urban ventilation channel has attracted the attention of planners.However,the new town planning and development in China is still in the exploratory stage of summing up,and the theoretical planning system in line with China’s national conditions has not been established.In addition,the water system as an important factor in the city’s natural environment affects the overall layout of new town construction and urban morphology,and it is an important part of the urban ventilation channel.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the influence of water ventilation channel on the overall urban layout and urban design under the background of the protection and use of water system in new town construction.Furthermore,specific urban architecture form should be controlled at the level of block planning on the basis of macro understanding of urban ventilation channel through urban planning.Meanwhile,it is of direct significance to evaluate the pros and cons of wind environment from the perspective of persons’ feelings based on the people dominating the city.Therefore,this paper studies the building layout on both sides of the urban water system,so as to explore the construction of ventilation channel with the purpose of human comfort.Based on the above background,a case study on Jiangping New Town,Dongxing,Guangxi Province was conducted in this paper.Firstly,research status of ventilation channel and building layout was summarized and combed;interpretation of related concepts was conducted;important research techniques and methods centered on computational fluid dynamic(CFD)technique were identified;groups of buildings within the construction land on both sides of the water system were simulated and analyzed with three kinds of different height combinations.Meanwhile,common evaluation methods of outdoor wind environment were summarized;applicable evaluation strategy was constructed;construction of ventilation channel facilitating the pedestrian level and wind environment was explored;the influence of architectural layout on ventilation channel was explored from the perspective of the overall urban layout.Comparative analysis on the simulation results was conducted under the three different kinds of architectural layout,namely building layout 1:contour layout of building height on both sides of the river,building layout 2:short to long distance layout of building away from the river and building layout 3:long to short distance layout of building away from the river,It was found that there are different building layout conclusions under the most wind directions in summer and winter.However,given that New Jiangping Town belongs to the warm summer and winter climate zone and winter simulation results also meet windproof requests,evaluation therefore centers on summer.Meanwhile,different conclusions may be caused due to the differences in geographical environment characteristics of the study object.Therefore,simulation results of north mountainous region and south plain were discussed with the Fangdong Highway as the boundary,thereby verifying that the terrain difference leads to different conclusions.The following conclusions were reached:building layout 3 in north mountainous region is the best,and building layout 1 in south plain is the best.Furthermore,corresponding urban design strategies for the two kinds of building layout were proposed combining with characteristics of the geographical environment,on which some guidance suggestions for the planning design and urban design of Jiangping New Town can be provided.
