As an important part of the valve opening and closing controller in engine,camshaft has high machining accuracy requirement in designing.The last critical process of camshaft machining is grinding.Therefore,in order to ensure the grinding process accords with request of production,the camshaft grinding machine must have satisfactory static and dynamic performance.The vibration of the spindle system is one of the main factors of the grinder vibration,so it is necessary to analyze the static and dynamic characteristics of the system.The MKS8318 high-speed camshaft grinder spindle system was taken as the research object and the spindle system performance was taken as the optimizing target.Combine the finite element simulation with experimental method to analyze the spindle system performance and optimization design.Main works of this paper are listed as follows:(1)According to the spindle system structure and its actual working condition,the three-dimensional model of spindle system is established by Solidworks;then the load and constraint conditions of the spindle system is determined on the established model in ANSYS Workbench.(2)Static and the dynamic analysis are conducted to the spindle system by ANSYS Workbench,and the static stiffness of the system is calculated according to the deformation of the grinding wheel spindle system.Based on the modal analysis,the first to seventh vibration modes,natural frequencies and the corresponding critical speed of the spindle and the grinding wheel spindle system is obtained,respectively.The displacement frequency response curve is obtained by the harmonic response analysis,combined with the static and modal analysis to confirm the rationality of the spindle system design.(3)The radial stiffness and the natural frequency of the grinding wheel spindle system are tested by building the spindle static and dynamic testing system.Verified the validity of the finite element model by comparing the results of experiments and finite element analysis.(4)In order to optimize the spindle structure,with the design optimization function of the ANSYS Workbench to the structure parameters in the spindle systemare optimized.Results obtained shows that the static stiffness and the natural frequency of optimized spindle system are obviously improved,and the spindle performance is effectively advanced.
