The performance of pantograph friction pairs is affected by environmental factors.The temperature rise causes wear of electrical contact materials,and the severe environment will aggravate wear and threaten traffic safety.The research on the temperature characteristics of the friction pairs is important to ensure the safe operation of the train and the stability of the flow.The influence of rainfall on the temperature field and the temperature distribution of contact surface of friction pairs were studied,by using sliding electric contact test machine,under different working conditions.The influence of rainfall on off-line arc was studied.The result shows: Rainfall affects the range of temperature fluctuation,and fluctuates most in light rain.The rainfall environment slows down the increase of the temperature field caused by the increase of the current.There is "bad current range" in low speed condition.And "unfavorable range of rainfall" under the condition of high speed and large current.The increase of velocity has different influence on the steady-state value of temperature field in rainfall and normal environment.The greater the speed,the greater the temperature fluctuation of the contact point under the condition of small current.While it increases at first and then decreases under large current.There is a "bad speed range" that makes the greatest temperature fluctuations.In the normal environment,the temperature at the edge of the friction zone of the slide plate is higher,and the middle part is lower,and in rainfall environment is opposite.In light rain environment,the lateral temperature distribution of the contact surface of the skateboard is uniform,but it increases the longitudinal inhomogeneity and intensifies the longitudinal wear.The unfavorable influence of rain environment on the current of friction pairs will aggravate the arc and make the current has more ripples.It generates the most offline arc in small rain environment.The frequency of loop current are mainly concentrated in 0~100Hz.The rainfall environment will reduce the amplitude of 50 Hz,and has the minimum amplitude in the light rain situation.There is "unfavorable range of rainfall" that makes the worst current quality.
