In recent years,the research and application of micro unmanned aerial vehicle have developed rapidly in the civilian field,because its low cost,operability and many other advantages.The GCS is an important part of the UAV system.Because the difference of its application scenarios,there are diversity on the GCS's implementation approach.As the GCS demands a higher portability,it becomes more important to study how to control the UAV flight on the mobile device.According to the requirements of the flight monitoring and controlling of the UAVs,this paper has made a comprehensive analysis to the key technologies and main functions of the ground station mobile application,and completes the design and implementation of the application on Android devices based on an open source autopilot system called APM.First,this paper begins with an extensive review of the research status on the UAV system and GCS system.Then it gives a detailed analysis of the basic functions of GCS.The paper studies the relevant contents of the ArduPilot Mega open source project(called APM).The key techniques used in the application and development of the ground station are summarized and analyzed,including Android development technology,Micro Air Vehicle Communication Protocol,wireless communication technique and so on.Then,according to the preliminary investigation and analysis,the paper summarizes the necessary functions of the application of the UAV Ground station.The application is divided into four modules:flight control module,flight data display module,message communication module and personal settings module.Using the Android application development technology,the paper accomplished the overall design and implementation of the GCS application.As for each function module,its implementation mechanism and related technologies are introduced.In the end the test shows that the UAV Ground Station application works well with other parts of the system and is able to meet the basic operation of micro UAV flight control.
