Cooling tower fan is the core mechanical equipment on the petrochemical industry,electric power, metallurgy, textile and other industries circulating water treatment system whose role is to force the hot water cooling to water recycling temperature. The status of cooling tower fan gear has a direct impact on the safety of the cooling tower circulation system smooth work. Spiral bevel gears are located at the high-speed end of the fan reducer of cooling tower. The speed is fast and the number of meshing times is high. The load of the tooth bevel is large and the teeth are often broken. Gear failure account for 60%, in all the gearbox failures, the greatest impact on the system. Therefore, it is necessary to study the damage analysis and improvement of the spiral bevel gear in time to ensure the high efficiency production.In this paper, the failure of the spiral bevel gear of the large cooling tower fan is analyzed and studied and statistical induce the main forms of injury and injury site according to the failure of a petrochemical company removed gears. The factors that may cause gear damage from machining to use are analyzed and further studied.The paper analyzes the practical problems encountered in the operating state of the spiral bevel gear of the cooling tower fan and the damage situation. Then analyze the main damage forms of the bevel gear and the damage position, and study the essential reason of the spiral bevel gear damage and the essential reason of spiral bevel gear damage.Combined with gear processing technology, put forward the corresponding improvement program.In this paper, the three-dimensional model of the cooling tower fan is established, and the force of the spiral bevel gear pair is analyzed. According to the nonlinear dynamics, the dynamic model of the transmission system and the damage dynamics model are established, and the different damage forms are parameterized. Dimensional finite element model is introduced into ADAMS, and the contact finite element method is used to analyze the dynamics of the system. The study of the dynamic characteristics of each parameter in the spiral bevel gear transmission system is studied.The advantages and disadvantages of the different support ways of the spiral bevel gear drive system are analyzed, and a more appropriate supporting way is put forward. The influence of gearbox temperature on the performance of the gear is studied, and the essential cause of gear damage is revealed. Combined with the existing projects on the energy saving transformation of the cooling tower fan, the effect of frequency conversion on the operation of the gear is analyzed.
