With development of industry and technical,higher and higher requirements on pump function are put forward by all kinds of complicated industrial systems.The centrifugal pump with multi functions is needed by several industrial systems with high intensivism.Pump running in some different operation conditions at the same time is required,such as requirements on different capacities,pumping liquid,temperatures,pressures and environments,which can be realized by some pumps in traditional industry.It is very hard for existing technical to fulfill this goal.This kind of pump used to be mainly imported.With rapid development of domestic industrialization,restriction of technical monopolization is more and more serious.Localized product for substitution is urgent,which promotes the domestic manufacturers to make positive research and creation on hydraulic modeling and critical technical.This subject covers mainly on a vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump in multi,changeable environment and pumping liquid conditions.A nuclear safety pump is prototype.Research on design and test is made based on the safety pump performance.To meet high cavitation requirement,layout of 1st stage down-draught and guiding wheel is applied.Based on expected multi capacity condition and head slope characteristic,specific research is made on type selection and design for impeller.Specific structural design is made for thermal impact and foreign material condition.Seismic analysis for pump is made through computer program.At last,hydraulic,thermal impact and foreign material tests are done.Research and treatment are made on abnormal issues happened during test,e.g.low head and low capacity vs power curve.Through all kinds of researches on this subject,a vertical,centrifugal,multi stage and multi conditional pump is developed successfully.Hydraulic performance is proved to be met design requirement completely through characteristic and NPSH tests results.After all tests completed,pump disassembly inspections are done.No wearing or scratch is found.Design and construction are improved reasonable.By prove of seismic analysis result,completeness and operateability of pump unit during and after limit safe earthquake are obtained.Low head problem at 1st test has been solved by impeller trimming.
