Research have shown that the strength characteristics of the concrete face of the concrete face rockfill dam are affected by many factors, including the carbonization and sulfate erosion as two major factors. At present,the study about the strength characteristics of the panel concrete research, is still largely confined to single factor; Even considering the combination of both, only according to the existing experience to judge its impact on the strength characteristics of the composite, and theoretical basis is obviously insufficient. Therefore, On the basis of taking into account the interaction between carbonation and sulfate attack, it is still necessary to study the strength characteristics and evolution of concrete.In this paper, the mechanism of sulphate erosion and carbonization mechanism of panel concrete are analyzed systematically; And then, the influence mechanism of the effects of sulfate dry and wet cycle test, carbonization test and carbonation and sulphate wet and dry cycle on the strength characteristics of concrete. The research indicate that: (1) the water-cement ratio and the concentration of the erosion solution are the main effects of panel coagulation to prevent sulfate erosion. the smaller the water-cement ratio, the lower the compresive intensity of the concrete after the sulfate dry an.d wet cycle and the smaller the decrease of the cleavage tensile intensity; the smaller the concentration of the erosive liquid, the smaller the compressive intensity of the concrete after the sulfate dry-wet cycle and the smaller the decrease in the tensile intensity.(2)The water-cement ratio is closely related to the carbonization depth of the panel conerete. The greater the water cement ratio is, the deeper the carbonation of the pane!concrete.With the extension of carbonation time, the depth of carbonization of concrete become more and more big. Under the same conditions of carbonation, the higher the carbonization depth, the greater the increase in the subsequent carbonization depth.(3) With the extension of carbonization time, the compressive intensity of panel concrete and its splitting tensile intensity are also subjoining. The large water-cement ratio, the faster the compressive intensity of the panel concrete and the increase in splitting tensile intensity. with the extension of carbonization time, the compressive intensity and splitting tensile intensity of panel concrete show a tendency to move slowly.(4)Under the alternating action of carbonization and sulfate erosion, the smaller the water cement ratio and the concentration of the etching solution, the smaller the compressive strength of the concrete under the alternating cycle and the decrease of the tensile strength. (5) Under the combined action of carbonization and sulphate erosion, the influence of the two on the strength of concrete is not a simple superposition of the effect of the concrete, but also shows the effect of alternating influence and intensification.
