With the development of science and technology and the continuous improvement of machinery manufacturing technology, the beneficiation technology of mining enterprises has also developed by leaps and bounds. After the beneficiation, the tailings waste Particles also tend to become thinner, , The slow consolidation and other characteristics of the fine aggregate tailings dam stability and seismic caPacity is relatively weak, the threat to the downstream people is also greatly increased. Therefore, the physical mechanics experiment for the development of fine tailings will have high academic significance and social and economic benefits. In this Paper, a gold mine tailings dam in Shaanxi is used as the research background. The mechanical properties of fine tailings are studied by a series of indoor tests. Based on this, the stability of the tailings dam is analyzed. The details are as follows:Firstly, the physical and mechanical properties of tailings were obtained by compressing test, infiltration test, static triaxial test and dynamic triaxial test. The Particle composition and dry density were obtained. Under the Duncan-Zhang model Parameters and the equivalent viscoelastic model Parameters, to provide the necessary conditions for simulation calculation. At the same time, the Parameters were comPared and analyzed to determine the effect of the change of the Particle composition on the mechanical properties of the fine tailings.Secondly, in order to determine the characteristics of the tailings in the actual project, the mechanical properties of tailings in a certain consolidation state during the sedimentation process are studied The experimental results show that the tailings of the tailings are in different consolidation degrees, Density of the mechanical properties, and comparative analysis due to differences in Particle composition caused by the characteristics of different. Finally, the finite element analysis of the tailings dam is carried out by using the EFES3D program to understand the stress, deformation and stability of the tailings in the tailings dam after the graded filling and the ground motion.
