The foundation is the base of the building,must ensure that the bearing capacity and sufficient stability.Engineering calculation of foundation usually adopts the Prandtl foundation bearing capacity formula of the modified method of bearing capacity,but is not suitable for calculating the ultimate bearing capacity of strip foundation under asymmetric embedded depth,the current standard also no clear formula.So carry out suitable for the characteristics of asymmetric embedded depth foundation engineering failure mode and bearing capacity calculation method research has important theoretical significance and practical significance.The main work and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)First reviews the development and research status at home and abroad based on the calculation of bearing capacity,introduces the basic concept of the ultimate bearing capacity of foundation and foundation damage model,deduces the calculation method of classical ultimate bearing capacity,for the further calculation of asymmetrical embedded depth of foundation bearing capacity to lay a theoretical foundation.(2)By using the limit equilibrium analysis method to study the bearing capacity of strip foundation under asymmetric embedded depth.Combined with the failure mechanism of strip foundation,using ground failure mode of symmetric embedded depth,consider the asymmetric action of foundation failure under asymmetric embedded depth,build a reasonable damage model of strip foundation under asymmetric embedded depth.Through the model by force analysis,using the limit equilibrium analysis method,considering only the foundation depth and clay cohesion were calculated in formula of the ultimate bearing capacity,and the influence of only considering the weight of soil under foundation were calculated in formula of the ultimate bearing capacity,comprehensive two formula propose the ultimate bearing capacity calculation method of consider the soil weight.Through the case study,it is concluded that the bearing capacity of the strip foundation decreases with the increase of the depth of the embedded depth,but the ultimate bearing capacity increases with the increase of the depth of both sides.(3)Using finite element analysis software PLAXIS numerical analysis of foundation failure shape under asymmetric embedded depth failure and the bearingcapacity,analysis the foundation deformation mesh and ultimate bearing capacity with changes of in both sides different depth,and the results are discussed and compared with the theoretical calculation.The numerical simulation results that the bearing capacity of the foundation changes with the theoretical calculation results was basically consistent.
