The study on rock energy theory is of great significance to the optimization of rock engineering design and construction,as well as the protection of geological disasters such as rock burst,roof caving,cavern instability,landslide and so on.In view of this,this paper researches the mechanism of energy dissipation and release of rock failure,by using the method of theoretical and numerical simulation analysis.Firstly,the energy dissipation characteristics of rock failure process are analyzed by using dissipative structure mechanism.Then,based on the uniaxial compression test,the theoretical formula of energy dissipation is derived.The results show that there are negative exponential relationships between the energy dissipation value and the length-diameter ratio of the rock.Using the principle of minimum energy dissipation,the criterion of rock strength is obtained too.In order to study on the mechanism of energy release during rock fracture,in this paper,the formula of energy release rate of rock fracture,and energy release equation for rock fracture expansion are deduced,based on the theory of energy balance.The influences of the process of strain hardening and strain softening,as well as the stiffness of the test system on the energy release in the process of rock fracture are analyzed.And then,using the catastrophe theory of rock specimen under uniaxial compression test,the calculation method of rock energy release value when disaster occurs is obtained.Finally,the intrinsic relationship between rock energy dissipation and release is obtained,based on the characteristics of energy change in different stages and the whole process under uniaxial compression test of the rock,and the numerical simulation analysis of granite model,combined with the main factors affecting the energy dissipation and release characteristics of rocks.And,this paper points out that there is no obvious boundary between the energy dissipation and energy release of rocks,and it is best to analyze the energy dissipation and release together to achieve the best results.
