With the rapid development of society and economy,a large-scale of foundation engineering was built in China,causing the supply of the building sand can't meet the need of the increasing development.Especially,there is a severe shortage of the medium sand and coarse sand in the vast areas of Xinjiang.However,the desert sand which is abundant in the western areas of Xinjiang could be applied in the practical engineering with the principle of using local materials.This method reduces desertification but also takes a pivotal role in the development of Xinjiang both of the social significance and engineering practical value.This thesis selects the desert sand for research object from the Gurbantongut Desert in Xinjiang.With the aim of analyzing the influence of workability and the mechanical properties of the desert sand concrete by using the method of the Orthogonal test from the aspect of its physicochemical property,this thesis figures out the best mix proportion of the desert sand concrete.In order to further study the influence of the ratio on component performance,this thesis designed the compression-bending member by using a pillar of ordinary concrete and a pillar of desert sand concrete and the deformation performance and energy dissipation capacity under different variation parameters.The following are the results:(1)Physical and chemical properties of the desert sand: The fineness modulus of desert sand was 0.198 by sieving method.It showed that the sand of the Gurbantongut Desert that used in the experiment belongs to the superfine sand.This experiment found that the density of the desert sand concrete was larger when it compared with the sand adopting in an ordinary engineering.(2)The mix proportion experiment study of the desert sand and concrete: The orthogonal experiment is carried out to analyze the influence of water-binder ratio,gray sand ratio,fly ash dosage and desert sand replacement ratio on the 7d,28 d strength desert sand concrete,splitting tensile strength and peaceability.To remain the water-binder radio,cement-sand ratio and the fly ash replacement were unchanged on the basis of the orthogonal experiment.The experiment revealed further on the effect rules about the desert sand replacement rate and the desert sand 28 d compressive strength of concrete.It indicates that the compressive strength of the desert sand and concrete and the splitting tensile strength showing a trend that increased at first and then decreased with the rising of the desert sand replacement rate.The compressive strength of the desert sand concrete reached its maximum when the replacement rate was 50 percent.(3)The experimental research of seismic performance on the desert sand concrete column: In order to further explore the property of ductility,rigidity degeneration and energy-dissipating capacity of the desert sand concrete,the repeated low cycle loading tests was carried by using the desert sand frame column and the two test specimen of the ordinary concrete frame column.It showed that the property of the desert sand concrete coincided with the ordinary concrete in terms of its ductility,rigidity degeneration and energydissipating capacity.This best mix proportion provides the reference and theoretical research for further Seismic performance test research on the desert sand concrete.
