This paper used a new equipment to explore the feasibility under indoor conditions of a new construction technology of asphalt core wall which improved from the traditional construction of compacted asphalt concrete core wall?namely the aggregates guiding technology?which will lay a foundation for the application of this technology in practical engineering.Aggregates of asphalt concrete are irregular polygons?which directly lead to the mechanical property of anisotropy. And the arrangement of inegular aggregates in the asphalt concrete core wall is random The guiding technology studied in this paper add a guiding process between the traditional construction of the paving and rolling process, to guide the natural arrangement of aggregates and make it more regular. Thus, the asphalt concrete is more easily compacted and reducing the number of times of compaction.which can finally reach the aim of improve the construction efficiency of asphalt concrete core and save energy consumption. Specific rcscurch contents and conclusions are as follows:1.Related tests were conducted to explore whether the guiding technology can improve the indoor molding efficiency of asphalt concrete or not.The results show that the porosity of asphalt concrctc specimens, molded through one guiding arrangement and two times of hit-solid, has reached 1.99%. which meets the standardized requirement of less than 3%, while the porosity of the asphalt concrete under the conditions of no guiding and four times of hit-solid could merely reach 2.63%. This phenomenon indicates that the guiding technology can improve the forming efficiency of asphalt concrcte specimens to a certain degree.2.Using the methods of direct observation and CT scanning to explore whether the guiding technology will affect the asphalt concrete aggregate arrangement or not.Through relevant tests, the results of two methods are wholly the same: guiding technology will have an impact on the asphalt concrete aggregate arrangement.The specific performance is that the tracs blade comes through consist of aggregates in smaller particle size and filler, and on both sides of the traces are mainly larger particle size of aggregate, whose arrangements fol low the travel direction of blades.3.Little beam bending tests,sheer tests, slope flow tests, split tests were conducted to explore whether teh guiding technology have an impact on the mechanical properties of the asphalt concrete and draw a conclusion; the rearrangement of aggregates caused by guiding technology will not have a significant impact on the bending and split behavinr of asphalt concrete; the guiding technology has a slight effect on shear deformation capacity of the asphalt concrete under no normal pressure condition,while if there is a normal pressure, the effect above disappears; the guiding technology will influence the slope flow property of asphalt concrete and this phenomenon will change different relations between guide surface and slope direction.
