Wireless power transfer(WPT)is more secure,convenient and compatible compared with traditional plug-in charging,which has great research value and application prospect.In recent years,online electric vehicle(OLEV)that features WPT technology is gaining more and more attention.Due to the WPT technology uses the electromagnetic field to transfer the power from the primary side to secondary side,the electromagnetic safety of the magnetic coupler is a research hotspot.The motivation of this paper is to propose a new electromagnetic shielding structure for the N-type magnetic coupler,so as to improve the electromagnetic compatibility of the OLEV.In this paper,both the operating principle and the design of new magnetic coupler suitable for of the OLEV is analyzed in depth.The finite element simulation model of the magnetic coupler is established,and then the magnetic field distribution is obtained.The simulation results show that the magnetic shield ing for the system is required.The commonly used magnetic shielding types include the passive and active shielding.The magnetic field distribution and the coupling coefficient of the magnetic coupling mechanism are analyzed by simulation.The shielding method is based on the standard set by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection(ICNIRP).The magnetic field measurement device is designed to measure the magnetic field distribution around the magnetic coupler automatically.It mainly consists of the mechanical structure,motion control system and human interface software.The experiment prototype is built to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed methods.The operating frequency is 20 k Hz.The results show that the proposed shielding method not only improves the electromagnetic compatibility of the system but also ensures the electromagneti c safety for around organism.
