Earthquakes have always been unpredictable natural disasters for a long time.It has the features of emergency,randomness and huge destructiveness.It may not only cause tens of thousands of casualties,but also cause the interruption and traffic and production as well as plague and diseases.The big economic loss is unimaginable.In recent years,with the thorough study of domestic and foreign scholars on earthquakes,damping and energy dissipation technology has been popularized widely and the seismic fortification is more and more perfect,especially the application of all kinds of dampers and the development of various kinds of isolation bearings.However,although the cushioning technology is developing rapidly,there are some problems encountered in the process of popularization including the ability insufficiency of the engineering design personnel,the dis-unification of design methods and design thought,lacking of training materials or guiding books for engineering and technical personnel and having no typical damping cases as well as reliable and authoritative damping information database for reference and so on.One of the main problems is that there is no reliable and authoritative damping information database for reference.In view of this,the thesis will study from the following two ways.The first is to select typical damping engineering cases to analyze and study.The second is to establish damping engineering cases database to collect data widely.The thesis makes damping analysis by selecting the office and lab building of the Sichuan Electric Power Company and the dormitory building of Taiyuan Normal University respectively,establishes the finite element model by using Midas Gen and PKPM,designs energy dissipation damping scheme,selects seismic wave and makes elastic-plastic analysis and elastic time history analysis.According to the analysis process and results,it can be seen that energy dissipation damper design plays an important role and provides some enlightenment and design methods for engineering design personnel.In addition,the thesis has collected more than 70 typical damping cases and established database by using MySQL software.The content of the database includes the basic information of the construction(such as the name of the building,the type of the site),regional distribution(such as Sichuan,Yunnan),architectural features(such as hospitals,schools),the structure types(such as frame structure,shear wall structure),the types of energy dissipation device(such as metal yield energy dissipation device,viscous energy dissipation device)and information from various aspects.The database established has a good expansibility and practicablity.The database information can be added and modified and be convenient to query.In the near future,with the gradual improvement of information,the results of database analysis will have more guiding significance.The database also designs administrator and user authorization system which can be used for the public to query and record information.It can serve well the engineers and the public.
