In this paper a new type of ionic conducting wire for transmission of electrical energy or signals is reported. This kind of ionic conducting wire is composed of polymer hydrogel, and its coil possesses magneto-electric conversion property like a metal coil, and thus,it can be utilized to transmit electrical energy or signals. The magneto-electric conversion property was investigated, and it was found that compared with the metal coil with same dimension and number of turns, the coils composed of polymer hydrogel based ionic conducting wires were more sensitive to signals at low-frequency stage(10~30 kHz).The mechanism was discussed by theoretical calculation. The electrical double layer formed at the interface between hydrogel and metal electrode makes LC resonance can happen at a relative low-frequency stage, producing good output signals.Besides the excellent magneto-electric conversion property, the polymer hydrogel based ionic conducting wire possessed good flexibility, high transparency and good biocompatibility. It is anticipated that it would replace the metal coils to be used for electrical energy or signals transmission in biological implanted devices.
