Transverse Vortex-induced vibrations(VIV)is a critical problem of the wind-resistant design for structure in the civil engineering field.When the wind around the structure and the generated vortex shedding frequency is close to the natural frequency of the structure that will lead to transverse vortex-induced vibrations of large amplitude for the structure.The vibration of the structure will adversely affect the condition of normal use and the capacity of bearing load.Not only lightly affect the fatigue life of the structure,but also badly cause catastrophic consequences.The square cross-section is commonly used in high-rise structures in civil engineering field,the vortex-induced vibration is one of significant factors which threaten the safety of these structures.At present,there are relatively few studies on the vortex-induced vibration of the square-section structure,and it also have wind-vibration characteristics due to big wind directions angle.In this paper,the study on the vortex-induced vibration characteristics of the square-section structure with the wind directions angle in wind tunnel.Mainly include the flowing aspects.(1)The influence on the static aerodynamic characteristics of the square-section high-rise structure from wind direction.Obtained the static aerodynamic parameters,such as wind pressure distribution,lift coefficients and drag coefficients,Strouhal number,and the influence on these parameters from wind directions angle ware analyzed.The velocity of the vortex-induced vibration occurs was estimated at different wind direction,and the phenomenon of the vortex-induced vibration was introduced.(2)The influence on the dynamic aerodynamic characteristics of the square-section high-rise structure from wind directions angle.Obtained the dynamic aerodynamic parameters,such as the locking interval of the vortex-induced vibration,Maximum amplitude,aerodynamic coefficients,and the influence on these parameters from wind directions ware analyzed.The relationship between the wind pressure of the surface and the vibration of the structure,and the relationship between the aerodynamic coefficients and the vibration of the structure.(3)The influence on the equivalent wind load of the square-section high-rise structure from wind directions angle.The data presented in this paper,according to the code of conduct and combining with the examples obtained the wind direction angle of maximum equivalent wind load.
