This paper did research on hexagonal honeycomb sandwich structure.The mechanical models of the structure were established to study the vertical compression deformation characteristics.The factors affecting the cushioning performance were discussed.The main works of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the mechanical models of honeycomb sandwich structure were established respectively.As the analysis,honeycomb sandwich structure was regarded as orthotropic sandwich sheets,to analysis the structural and mechanical characteristics of the honeycomb structure.Then based on the plate buckling theory,buckling equilibrium equation of the core of honeycomb sandwich structure was established and the critical buckling load of wallboard was derived.Secondly,the vertical compression deformation conditions of honeycomb sandwich structure were analyzed.In this research,the deformation modes of honeycomb sandwich structure were discussed,and the deformation processes of single honeycomb units were analyzed.The whole process takes the form of progressing deformation and crushing.The yield strength of honeycomb sandwich structure and honeycomb sandwich structure were deduced respectively.According to the typical unit deformation features,Analysis and calculation of the compressive strength of honeycomb paperboard and folding wavelength.Thirdly,the static compression performance of hexagonal honeycomb sandwich structure was verified according to the experiment.The stress-strain curves?cushion energy absorption and the deformation characteristics of two thicknesses honeycomb sandwich structure at two different compression speeds were compared.The effects of the compression speed and the structure type on the vertical compression deformation characteristics and the yield strength were analyzed.Finally,using the ANSYS Workbench software and PRO/E modeling to study the honeycomb buckling performance,the critical buckling load of honeycomb sandwich structure was derived.Analyzed the honeycomb structure,stress and deformation cloud.
