Torsional vibration damper(TVD)has the characteristics of small volume,low cost,convenient installation,convenient machining and reliable operation.The TVD is installed in automobile drive-shaft which can reduce torsional vibration effectively.In this paper,the problem of torsional vibration is analyzed and the noise reduction measures of the TVD are proposed.The TVD is a kind of dynamic vibration absorber which is related to moment of inertia,rubber stiffness and damping ratio,and used the theory of dynamic vibration absorber to study it.This paper focuses on two aspects of the design method and performance test of the TVD.The parametric design and optimization method of the TVD are discussed,and the structure design methods are proposed.The rubber model of hyperelastic constitutive is described,and the torsional stiffness and natural frequency are simulated.The strength of the flange is analyzed and the thickness of flange is discussed.The performance of the TVD is studied by the modal impact method and the other test methods.It is concluded that the static stiffness is related to the rubber hardness and formulation.The dynamic stiffness of the torsional vibration damper is higher than the static stiffness at a certain excitation frequency,and the dynamic stiffness is related to the amplitude of excitation,preload and excitation frequency.The test results show that the performance of the TVD is not only related to the stiffness,but also the dynamic balance of the inertia ring,torsional space and damping ratio.This article has introduced the locations of sensor,test content,test method and tips for the NVH test.The test data of the power train system location,the seat rail location,the torsional vibration location and the front and rear seats location of the vehicle are analyzed.It turned out that the interior booming noise is mainly caused by the engine second-order excitation.There is a bending mode vibration of the power train system at the engine speed 1500 rpm and torsional mode vibration at 1000 rpm.After installing the TVD,the vibration and noise values of each measuring locations are decreased.The interior noise at about 1000 rpm speed of the engine is reduced by 8-12 d B,and the comfort of the vehicle has improved.
