Enlarging section asymmetric reinforcement of concrete columns is widely applied in the actual engineering.As section enlarging method,it is reliable,technically mature,great in promotion of capacity,great in promotion of stiffness and economical.And as Asymmetric reinforcement method,it is flexible and good in applicability.Section enlarged asymmetrically strengthened Columns are usually found in the corners of building structure because of the limited spaces there,but research on such strengthening method is rare and remains to be developed.This paper intends to adopt simulated compression tests on series of asymmetrically strengthened concrete square columns using finite element method.Currently,finite element method has been well developed.To adopt finite element method on numerical simulation research of asymmetric reinforcement of concrete square columns,can not only save cost,but also get accurate results,which means it is an effective method.The main contents of this paper are as follows.1.Analyze the performance of asymmetrically strengthened square columns in the whole loading process using section analysis method,for studying the mechanical characteristics of the columns.Analyze the influence of stress level index in the case of secondary stress in detail,in order to provide evidence for practical strengthening engineering and further analysis of this paper.2.Build detailed numerical models by finite element method.Analyze actual mechanical performance of the strengthened columns,and assess their capacity.Using finite element method to verify the accuracy of the results of section analysis method by comparison.3.Design parametric tests.Through parameterized comparative analysis,provide references for section design,reinforcement design,material selection in designing process of asymmetrically strengthened square columns.
