The research and development of automotive millimeter-wave radars is an effective way to reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents and plays an important role in improving traffic safety.Because the LFMCW technology has the advantages of high resolution,high anti-background clutter and noisy capability and having no blind distance,it is widely used in automotive millimeter-wave radars.This dissertation conducted a thorough research on LFMCW millimeter-wave radar system,introduced the design and implementation of LFMCW millimeter-wave radar system in detail and focused on the algorithm of constant false alarm detection which affects the performance of LFMCW radar system.Considering the importance of the performance specifications in the given application,this dissertation achieved the whole radar system design procedure consisting of system simulation,implementation and test on LFMCW radar are.Firstly,the design process of FMCW radar system using sawtooth wave modulation was introduced emphatically.In this part,the author conducted a study on the relationship among the parameters of the radar system,and introduced in detail the influence of the waveform selection,waveform parameters and the CFAR algorithm on the performance of the LFMCW radar.Based on this,the radar system design was completed and the feasibility of the LFMCW radar system was verified through system simulation.Secondly,combining with engineering realization,the author introduced in detail a method of realizing the sawtooth wave LFMCW radar system based on FPGA.The basic idea of the engineering realization was to use the two-dimensional FFT algorithm to extract the distance and velocity information of the target by accumulating the beat signals of multiple repetition periods,and to extract the angle information by obtaining the phase interference between the two channels of the received signal belonging to the same distance and speed unit.By providing the general function framework of the radar system,the functions and design ideas of each realization module which constituted the radar system was introduced in detail,and the function verification was carried out.Lastly,the function and performance test of LFMCW radar system were carried out,and the performance of the maximum detectable distance and target parameter was analyzed based on the experimental data.
