With the rapid development and integration of information technology and electronic technology,smart phone has got great development.Nowadays,smart phone have integrated positioning,navigation,networking and other function.Smart phone's navigation function provides benefit for drivers when they drive,but also leads todistraction and bringstraffic security problems.Researching on the rules of smart mobile phone's navigation affect driving performance,which can reduce the influence of the driving distraction,thus improve the level of road traffic safety in our country.The paper bases on the driving information processing theory,driver's physiological characteristic theory and driving operation characteristic theory,analysis and selects index such as the number of fixation,fixation frequency,fixation time and saccade amplitude,scan velocity,pupil diameter,longitudinal velocity,acceleration,and space headway,the lateral displacementto build up system of smart mobile phone impact on driving performance.In addition,with these indicators determined above,hasing the aid of SIMmobileeye tracking device,car following driver behavior system and other devise,the paper designs and completes driving performance impact experiments under different conditions.These experiment conditions include whether use smart phone navigation,the different location of smart phones and different navigation methods usage of smart phone.It obtains driving performance data,then screens and per-disposes the data,and then analysis the different and the significance of these indicators.The data show that driver use mobile phone navigation transferpartial visual attention from outside road information to the mobile phone when driving,saccade speed,amplitude,and blink time are significantly affected,furthermore driver vehicle longitudinal controlling has been affected,the vehicle speed decreases,the head spacing increases,and the lateral offset increases.The level ofmobile phone display different location effect on driving performance is position 1< position 2;the level of navigation mode effect on driving performance is audio-visual combine used < auditory used <visual used.According to the conclusion of this paper,combined the present situation of driving performance in China,the paper provides severalcountermeasures in the aspects of smart phone placing position,navigation usage mode,driving operation,Vehicle auxiliary facilities to reduce smart phone navigation impact on driving performance,when driving.
