Mobile navigation technology makes car travel more convenient.However,this technology may also damage driving safety and there are many researches arguing about it.The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of mobile navigation on driving safety.Simulated experiment was conducted to investigate driver's visual characteristics and vehicle stability under different situations,including phone voice navigation,mobile phone holder navigation and handheld navigation.Based on data from this experiment,we analyzed the influence of different mobile navigation on drivers' visual characteristics and the vehicle running state,getting the qualitative effect of mobile navigation on safety.This paper's research mainly includes the following parts:1.The practical significance of studying the influence of mobile navigation on driving behavior was clarified.The research content was established and the design of experiment was completed.Through using of local area network(LAN),time synchronization of driving simulation platform and eye movement equipment and remote control of navigation device was finished.2.The subjects were recruited.According to the research content,Experimental situations and Experimental tasks were designed and then eye data and vehicle data were collected.3.The eye movement data collected by the eye tracker was analyzed and the classification method was established,which were suitable of the content for the study.The analysis of the vehicle running state data collected by the driving simulator can be selected to characterize the longitudinal and lateral stability of the vehicle.4.The visual variation characteristics of drivers were reflected by the rate of entropy,average scanning angle,horizontal and vertical angle of view.We adopted longitudinal velocity standard deviation angle standard deviation and the steering wheel,steering wheel angle entropy values to characterize the driving stability of vehicle.The selected eye movement and vehicle running state parameters were analyzed by mathematical statistics,and the parameters of these parameters were tested in different mobile navigation and free driving mode.5.Using statistical analysis and significant difference test results,we can determine the parameters of driving behavior differences,and then analyze the influence of different mobile phone navigation modes on the driver behavior and the safety of vehicle operation.The results indicate that different mobile phone navigation will have certain impact on driving safety and operation of mobile phone navigation for the driver's attention is different.Its impact on driving safety will also vary.Operating mobile navigation cost drivers more attention and had significant negative influence on driving safety.
