With the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous growth of traffic volume,domestic early built four-lane freeway falls short in capacity,service levels and security.Therefore,expansion or new multi-lane freeway will become hot spots of freeway construction.In this situation,in order to adapt to the road traffic conditions of multi-lane highway after the expansion and extension,it need to re-study the design method of guide signs.This paper through survey on the current status of domestic guide signs and extensive reading relevant literature,research on Design of guide signs from the selection of the structure of the guide signs?structural design of guide signs?layout information and information dissemination methods.This paper analyzes the characteristics of the column,road side attachment,cantilever,gantry signs and other traffic structure and calculate the setting requirements of different guide signs considering the vehicle cover.In this case,Gantry structure can effectively solve the vehicle cover on multi-lane freeway,this paper select gantry support structures as the main support structure of a multi-lane freeway guide signs.To research the impact on driver vision when driver through continuous set of gantry guide signs,this paper define the concept of tunnel landscape.Through vissim simulation experiments on driver visibility,we get the minimum set distance of Gantry guide signs to weakened tunnel landscape.According to the driver's visual characteristics,the experimental results were verified mathematical model.Aiming at structure characteristics of large span conveyor.with mechanical simulation software and mechanical calculation model,the structural strength wind analysis of gantry traffic sign boards.Validate at relatively harsh natural conditions to maintain security and stability on the road applicability.And according to National standard and the demand of the multi-lane freeway guide signs,gantry sign side structure columns,beams,traffic sign board and reflective film were designed.To solve the message when driver visibility guide information overload,confusion and other issues of information,In this paper,through the layout information Visibility experiment.The relationship between the time and the guide information is obtained.According to the relevant economic data and toll traffic data of the city along Beijing-Hong Kong and Macao freeway to establish the city's road network importance model,and stratified the city information along the freeway.Combined with directional sign information delivery model.The design principle of guiding signs based on the understanding,continuity and system is presented.Finally,combining the content of the article,the example of Beijing,Hong Kong and Macao freeway single export,multi export and service area is designed.
