HV shunt reactor,one of the most important electrical equipment in power system,gets more and more attention about its operation reliability from research and design departments.In order to obtain larger reactance value and satisfy the linearity of reactor reactance,reactor is designed as core disks and more gaps.Loss of HV shunt reactor consists copper loss,iron loss and stray loss.The loss produced by the magnetic flux of the edge is the only part in reactor,which will lead to local overheating if designed improperly.Thus in the design process of HV shunt reactor,it is the key work to obtain the leakage magnetic field distribution and electromagnetic parameters like the additional loss produced in winding and the structure parts,inductance or reactance and volt-ampere characteristics.The HV shunt reactor,which is characterized with its special structure such as more gaps and more core disks is comprehensively analyzed.Then a 3D numerical model of a HV shunt reactor is established to analyze the leakage magnetic field distribution of windings,additional loss,inductance or reactance and volt-ampere characteristics under different excitations.The regularities of electromagnetic parameters distribution and conclusion under different excitations considering the influence of core saturation in HV shunt reactor are obtained which provides a reliable analysis method for design of HV shunt reactor.Finally,by using two-dimensional finite element method and high-level programming language,a software is developed to compute the leakage magnetic field distribution and characteristic parameters of HV shunt reactor.Comparing the calculated reactance and volt-ampere characteristics parameters in different reactors under different excitations with the test ones,the validity of engineering calculation method on performance parameters is proved.At the same time,by changing the parameters of the model structure,the effects on characteristic parameters are analyzed and summarized.Thus,a reliable basis for the design and safe operation of product is supplied in this paper.
