The mileage of highway is nearly 20000 km in gansu loess area.Because the engineering properties of loess is more special and complex,result more and more highway diseases in gansu,it is difficult to cure,the roadbed is offen uneven settlement,slope erosion and collapse,the phenonmen not only have the road safety risk,but also makes a great difficulty to operate and maintenance the highway,at the same time,it can make the high maintenance cost,so theresearch to the prevention technologh of highway roadbed disease in gansu's loess area is necessary,certainly,the value of research is big.On the basis of existing research results,the article firstly summarizes the distribution characteristics of the loess in longdong region and longxi region in gansu province,and the index of the water and mechanics,included the water permeability,swelling property,disintegration,shearing resistance and so on,the characteristics of the loess and the influence factors are expoounded.secondly,the article introduced the common disease types of loess subgrade slope,on the base of the result,analying the mechanism of the disease,and giving the correspondign treatment measures.finally,represented by six regions in gansu:highway from chankou to liuhe,lanzhou airport expressway,analying the uneven settlement reason of loess area and put forward the correspongding prevention measures for uneven settlement of roadbed,can provide more technical supporting for the research of loess subgrade disease of highway engineering in gansu province.
